American serama thread!

I read that Seramas don't have a molt but rather lose and regrow feathers on a regular basis all the time. Is that incorrect. Trying to learn what to expect with my guys.
so far no molt.

my dark chocolate roo is dropping like 20 feathers a day its pretty bad and a few of the hens the same.... it is gonna vary based on climate

If what mine just went through wasn't a molt then I sure as heck don't know what it was! About 30 of my males lost almost their entire tail and probably the same for the hens.

Some of mine lay every single day without failure and some lay 1 egg a month. My A's lay once in awhile, very sporatic. The larger my hen is the more regularly she lays. I had one that did not lay until she was 18 months old while I have some others that are a year and haven't laid a single egg.

Well chickens do loose a few feathers all the time. But 1/2 of my SErama have been in major molt for almost two weeks. Boys loose their long tail feathers and they look rough and ragged, then they feathers grow back in and they look all new and nice again.
