American serama thread!

I have a beginners question. I have several young roos obtained from different sources. To me it looks like they are going to be to "normal" looking as far as haveing the straight up back I see in others birds. Are the young supposed to be like this? Will they straighten up and stand more erect as they get older? They are beautiful and I love them but don't want to be embarrassed by haveing someone point out a really bad flaw when I show them off . I have heard or read the term" long in the back" is this what is wrong with them. Is there any way to make them stand more erect?

Hopefully the link works. My silly boy Zaraki was totally eyeing the top of my head and so I filmed him in action. He's one of the five I got in Kentucky around July 4th that I had my husband actually bring me home. I think he's like 14 weeks?

Question. Is it bad that his comb is floppy? He grew his comb super fast! By 6 weeks it was practically all the way in and he wa still just a baby and it flopped over after a while. Why did it do that?

floppy comb could mean to much protein its no big deal unless your showing him the the floppy is a DQ

Dern. I thought about it too. Because otherwise he struts around like a little bratty kid and such. They were on chick feed the kind I always used. Oh well. I am pairing him with a buff curly. I don't know anything about color and what it will produce I just know he is my only smooth boy so my curly girl has no other options!

lol.... i have heard to stop chick starter at 3 weeks or as soon ans you can tell its a roo and go to something with less protein....i never tried it though
