American serama thread!

Good Morning everyone! As a result of my limited space, the time has come to sell several young pairs of my Serama. All of the birds I am offering hatched from show quality stock. I will be traveling from Atlanta to York, Pa next week and may have the ability to deliver birds along the way. Please pm me if you are interested and I can share photos. I hate to be letting them go, but I just don't have room for them all.

My latest finds. Three young hens, one still a pullet. Colors I couldn't resist and I love Betty Boops style but I hope to pair her with a rooster that will improve her tail width, she has nice swarthy legs with deep yellow soles on her feet. Gigi is cute as a button, nice yellow legs and she can set up well when she wants but she's still very shy in front of the camera and ducks behind the other two and Betty's chest is ample enough to hide the other two girls

Candi is a neat color, I'm hoping chocolate but she's nice enough regardless. She may be out of a cocopop rooster so we'll see what I get with her and T-Roo. She has a better tail, wider, and I'm anxious to see it all grown back in. Her legs are more slate but I have roosters with nice yellow legs for her. Candi is a screamer,

she isn't fond of being handled at all yet but she will be soon. I'll post more of these girls as they settle in and develop more. I haven't chosen a mate for them yet. They're in quarantine for a while. They were with a cocopop rooster so if any of them lay in the next week or so, they will be set as they are laid. By the time they're out of quarantine, they should be ready for one of my roosters.

Betty Boop - I love her big, up there chest

Candi - it was harder getting pics around Betty. she's an out front kind of hen

Gigi - sweetie personality but shy, she will tame down fast and cuddled when I held her

No matter what type of show you go to, there will always be the "bad egg" lurking somewhere in the shadows [murphy's law]. With this show Bib-B71[aka: RaY] will be the UN-official bouncer/chicken protector so IF you run accross this "bad egg" just steer him/her very nicely over to Ray and problems solved. IF it is a REALLY bad egg Gumbii can introduce him to "DURIAN"

Good morning!

Quick question about the Frontline application. If it doesn't affect the fertility of the eggs, how does it affect the eggs - and I'm also talking about my big girls - aer they edible? What would the withdrawl be for both meat and eggs?

We have three of Lucy's eggs under one of Jakes hens. The day after we take them over, she lays another one!! May have a potential broody of my own so we will hang on to it and see how it goes.

Mr. Turtle's love fest continues, and even though he is nowhere near the shape he should be, I'm determined to get him calm enough to be handled for a show.

I also heard, and please say it isn't so, that there may be very unsportsmanlike conduct at shows in regards to fighting and belittling, etc. I certainly hope not. This is a therapy tool for my son to help him over being abused by 'her', I would hate to see the one thing in all these years that makes him smile and so happy to be like that.

I'll take care of your light work sue no problem ! just send them my way and i'll send them to the hwy . lol .

There was nothing like that at the last show. Everyone that showed birds was very gracious and friendly to each other. My two little girls ( 6 & 9) had a terrific time. They can't wait for the next show! You can hang out with us if you like. My girls LOVE to talk chicken!
