I loved it too, the most spoiled and loving ones are the single hatches that I've had. At first I was really sad for the little ones, but then you get to smother them with love.

Well, that's true. They do get more attention. When I've had single hatches, though (with other breeds) it just seems like the chicks were always loneseome and would peep their little distress peep more often. I had a black copper marans hen go broody and she hatched a single chick last summer. I didn't worry so much about that one since he was with his mama. She was a great little moma, but that chick was an ornery little guy and I think she just about went crazy trying to keep the little guy in line.

Aww poor Momma. Yeah it made me sad to hear them chirp like that, they did go crazy a bit, but it was nice being able to spend so much time with them.
