American serama thread!

I live in Wisconsin and was wondering how Seramas do in colder climates. Also, could they be kept with D'Uccles, Cochins, and Silkies (all bantams)?

13!!! It hasn't got'n much below 30 here, a few nights in the 20's and that's it, it's been jumping from 60-40 sometimes 30 for a month. I'm sick of the warm weather, apparently mother nature forgot it's supposed to be winter.

Whitney, it's been a pretty mild winter here in SW Missouri too but we've had several mornings that it was down to around 13 here too.

My hens have gone into overdrive. I got 8 eggs just now. I'm going to have to move some of my eggs from the incubator to the hatcher tomorrow to make room for some of these latest laid and finish them by hand turning. I have some Araucana eggs in the hatcher now that are pipped so as soon as I they are out, more will go in the hatcher.

Man, I am going to have to have more incubator space,

Speaking of Frizzleds, my boys seem to have more than there share of the frizzle gene coming thru. A few of my chicks, 3 weeks to 2 months old. The two middle chicks were totally yellow when hatched!

And CATHY, this one in particular is for you ............fathered by your Blu T, almost 3 months old.
