American serama thread!

Oh my gosh I did not know these chickens existed!!! I have seen threads about seremas but I just thought it was a breed of chicken like sussex or something like that, not tiny little little chickens, thank goodness I live on a farm!! I am so getting some! Hmm maybe I will just get eggs decisions decisions LOL. Do they always stand like soldiers?

The typey one does and the pet quality not so good looking like these...

There is something to be said for pet quality Serama's, I love the fact that mine are not so upright. They look like tiny chickens, but with a relaxed carriage. I wanted a tiny chicken only, with no care for showing, or how straight it stood, or breeding. That is what I got, for MUCH cheaper than the show quality you'll see on here. They run around the farm with the big guys and hold their own, they may be exactly what you're looking for. One thing though, you live in Minnesota with harsh winters, so research first. They will require extra care and housing.

Mine usually hatch on day 20 or 21. I don't really like it when I get pips on day 19, because they'll be sitting in that incubator for days waiting for everybody else to hatch.

Yep I did and I have it all figured out I live on a hobby farm, here is a pic of the outbuildings I use for coops The smaller one already has some chickens, guineas and ducks in it the bigger one is divded in half and that will be little chickens and muscovy ducks in each half and the space in between the coops will be the run for the small chickens. I have fencing up already this pic is older and I have fixed up the buildings added more windows doors etc. I can get heat to the buildings when needed. most of my poultry have free run of the place but they occasionaly get closed into the run. I have some baby bantams already but they are not old enough to go out yet. Now all I neeed is the seramas
