forgot to said congrats on your hatch .....

My four newbs, my first Seramas ever! They were just hatched this morning, and I have several more who have pipped. They are still not fluffed out completely, but I think they are awfully pretty :D

This one is much darker in person..more black...the window light washed it out a bit

I love this ones face! Such a little sweetie!

A bit blurry because this little one kept trying to run off. It is marked in a dark "chipmunk" pattern...and I think it was giving me baby stink-eye :D

This is the newest...any idea what this color pattern might turn out to be? Is this a mottled?
or wheaton roo, they have that stripe on shoulder too

muahhaaaa another one hooked on serama i now have 4 generations and currently 50 or so chicks of various ages. we started with 2 silkied and the rest is history

Everyone seem to love that color and tells me how hard it is to make one ... Funny thing was when I got started on this cocoapop project I Only had two birds . Both rooster one was silver and the other was gold... We didnt even have a hen . I had to make my own cause Jerry never sold me a cocoapop hen ... After breeding some and selling some birds I then got my hands on other color . But none were as nice of the pattern of the cocoapop / Cocoapatton . So I set out on making them breed more then one the next thin I know we made more the 4-5 in a clutch now ....

then I went one more step by calling them at a day old and have been proven right every time . I have now did even better then that gave some eggs to Jacob to hatch and call out their chick-down and still It is what I said cause he has updated the birds and will continue to better the breed in every way .

copy paste worked to upload pict!! this frizzle hen is a great brooder - she will watch the other hens and if anyone is not paying attention she will steal their chicks too, here she hatched 4 serama (dont critique her she's an old retired show bird)

that is awesome .. I keep birds that I dont breed for this reason to baby sit and watch other clutch and free up the other hen to lay again ...

So the 9 Serama eggs I ordered came in this morning and none were broken or cracked and the air cells look good. I checked the 4 Serama eggs under my broody (they are due tomorrow) and I have 2 pips and 1 that I think has enternally pipped.

I can't wait to see what they look like! Just thought I would share with someone lol.

How common is it for a Serama to pip but not hatch? Is it about as common as with regular chickens, or do they have a harder time zipping and hatching then other chickens. I'm worried and contemplating bringing them in to the incubator so I can help if I need to. Maybe I'm just worrying to much. haha

congrats! on babies. when i first started i was a worrywort and would fawn over those eggs - some would make it some wouldnt - i try not to help eggs unless i can hear chick screeching inside - it's hard especially with the incubator eggs but best bet is to let mama take care of it, she will help if she hears screeching too
