I don't have a picture. So could someone please describe how to tell an Americana rooster from a hen? At 4 to 5 months old?

Long curved tail feathers maybe? My ameraucana roo has the pointy saddle feathers and long tail feathers. This is Jack.

Jack is a good looking guy! We hatched Americanas in my daughter's Kindergarten class and now we have 2 (yet to be sexed) chicks at home. My guess is that "Fluffy" is a rooster by his size/attitude/walk/personality and that "Fuzzy" is a hen (more shy/much smaller). No distinct "roo" sounds yet from "Fluffy" yet his tail is starting to get longer, more prominent feathers. BTW, how soon do chicks mature (i.e. mate/lay eggs)? Our chicks are about 2 1/2 months now & are of the lavender variety.

I think to know for sure the gender of FalcoSparverius's "Americana" chicken we need a picture. But Easter Egger cockerels will get more splashy coloration than pullets in the 4-5 month range.
