Breeds and Sex confusion 🥴

10 weeks ago I brought home two Cuckoo Maran Chics and two Americana chics (One white and One black). 5 weeks ago I brought home an Americana Rooster.

I'm starting to think that one of my Maran chic's is a rooster and the Americana Rooster might be a Hen.

This is my first time having chics. So, I'm pretty clueless on sexing and identify breeds, Any thoughts?

The black "cuckoo maran" is not a cuckoo maran. She will have barring like the other. Could be a Black Star, Black Australorp, or Black Sex Link to name a few. I don’t think the “Americana” is an Americana

Sooo, confusing. What about the little one. Do you think that is an Americana or a rooster?

Yes, I thought so too . Guess I'll still be on the hunt for a rooster.

It might be a cockerel because sometimes they can hide the signs of being a roo pretty well but I would say pullet. I’m not super good at identifying gender though. If the “cuckoo Maran” with no barring is an Australorp then I would say pullet on that one and I think the actual maran is a cockerel

Where did you get them? Any updated pictures of the little cockerel?
