I am curious as to the Americana rooster temperament. Are they aggressive or generally friendly? I had a barred rock Cockrel die yesterday and the feed store only has Americana roosters so that is why I ask.

Feed stores usually only have Easter Eggers, not true Ameraucanas, but to answer your question, my friend had an Easter Egger cock that was a real chicken, ran away all the time! Near the end of his life, he had begun trying sneak attacks, which never worked. He was a big mater though, I always saw him mate a hen or two when I was over there.

As noted above, the Ameraucana you find in feed stores are generally going to be Easter Eggers - which the EE churned out by hatcheries are mixed breeds with a wide array of parent breeds being used in the mix. That leads to a total lack of consistency in characteristics, including temperament.
It really is just luck of the draw and could go either way. How old are the birds the feed store has to offer? Depending on age you could do some basic temperament assessments to help weed through the available birds to find one with the personality you want.

That being said - don't limit your search to the feed store. There is no shortage of roosters - especially this time of year. Take a look at your local Craigs List, Facebook livestock/poultry groups and the "local" thread for you here in the "Where am I/Where are You" section of BYC - you can find postings of various birds available or post an "In Search Of" post identifying what you want (breed, age, temperament, etc) and have much more to choose from than just what is available at the feed store.

I have checked the Craigslist adds but the couple that I found didn't know if they were hens or roos. Here is the chick I picked up
