Yeah, if they feel the need to portal will they bark/howl more?

Not necessarily. Mine only barks is she is alone, since they are pack animals. Most don't bark much except they might howl at night (Which sounds AMAZING)

Hoping if the GSD crosses turn out to were I can use them, mom said maybe 2
I'd get 2girls. Maybe I won't spay/neuter and might have 1 litter if they are good sled dogs. But that's a looooooong ways away!!

How much raw meat does 1 dog eat a day? 1 whole 2lb chicken? Or rabbit?

Feeding all depends on weather and amount of work and size of the dog,

A 40-60lb dog who works a 2miles a day 3-4 times a week.

To maintain a 80lb K9 not working.....4 lbs of red meat and viscera(inards, liver,kidney,heart,lungs,spleen, etc.), 1 cooked egg(raw eggs rob a dog's amino acid), a tblspn of rice(cook it, not a tblspn of cooked rice), 1 tblspn good grade cooking oil(I like olive oil or coconut oil), 4 oz of good, clean white fat fat, 1 tblspn doggie vitamins /10 K9's or I guess 1/10 tblspn for 1.
This diet was designed by a woman that was raising Qimmiqs. These K9's are even moreso carnivorous than most others since they are very primitive breed.
Personally I like raw whole fish that has been frozen solid for at least 2 whole days. Sooooooo much easier at feeding time. a fish has prettywell everything a K9 needs to have good health.
Of course also we have quite a bit of wild game here that we have as much access to as we need whenever we need so I feed my dogs all types of wild animal flesh and viscera. I also have access to a lot of beef, pork and all types of fowl, wild and tame. But my mainstay is fish.
ooo! Sorry. I guess your weather isn't conducive to the ease of my chores. its a tad warmer where you live.
I'm sure though you have access to a freezer to freeze and store fish.
