It was heavy wet snow with big flakes to start with then about midnight it turned to small flakes.
I knew it was gona turn stormy and sure as heck....
I just wish I had followed my gut and went to my dad's asking to use his snomo to pack a trail where I knew there was no water.

..... my gut you know....
Oh well, I guess if I wanted bad enough I'd be out there mushing eh.lol
It'll not last long anyway, it's that time of year. "There's always one more storm after the crows come back." my Nana said many times to me. She's never been wrong.
Oh my.... it's taken almost 3 hrs to do this post. I'm watching Jupiter Ascending. I love sci fi movies.

Hahahahahaha! I don't think getting run over would be a good idea.... That'd be cool if you raced.

Yeah.... I need a job, too. I also need a driver's license so my sister doesn't have to drive me everywhere... XD
cold not cool. Haha. It's way way colder there than here. And wild, wild, wild. sometimes there's no other human for 200miles. Just Moose and PolarBear. Actually Wolf, Owl, Ptarmigan, .....LOL.
actually more civilized than civilization.
But ya, it would be awesome to do that run. then the one in Saskatchewan, the Canadian Challenge, then on to realize The Ocek(?oh-chake?), the race that will retrace my grandfather's HBC route.

There is no american or canadian or any other "country" under british colonial law ruling that has a written law that states you are required by said law to be in possession of a "drivers licence" while in operation of a vehicle to travel from Point A to Point B.

1)I'm proud of you and for you.
2)That could get to be quite a bit if you're wanting a good one well trained with good blood lines.
3)LOL. That's cute. LMFO

Thanks

My brother is "allergic" we might keep him. My little sis says he'll be hers and I can't train him!
I'll being training him anyways, so I'll train him for my team! 2 wheel dogs, 1 lead

I don't need a driver's license but if I were to be pulled over/stopped for some reason I'd need one.

Thanks

Hi everyone. The snow is melting.....again. It's getting warm and spoze2 stay warmer like real spring from now on. I had put away all my mushing gear thinking the snow would e gone the next day. JARRED like a pickle! me. Pus vet visit went well. I didn't know that A yi mi siw had been getting her lip cut in a fight with her sibling/s. It took the vet 15 mins to scrape the salvageable tissue and then stitch her up. She's healing fine now and will grow to be beautiful specimen of a sled dog.
Please forgive me my inability to post pix. I will eventually though.
SternRose, I hope things go well for you. You seem to be taking on a lot. I think we could go 2 ways with that. 1,We live once. Give her all you got. Or 2, We live once. Relax, enjoy it.
My father says to many people quite often,"I work hard for what I want. I appreciate it more than you getting stuff for nothing." I personally think he's right. Goodonya.
What I have a bit of a rough time comprehending is why amass so much to then leave the behind to go to college?
I think if I were wanting to further my formal education I would do that first, then into a reasonably settled life to get "tied down" to the responsibilities of material possesions and animals that rely on my care giving.
Please know that I a not telling you what to do. I know from my own experience about being "tied-down" when there were other things I wanted to do or thought needed to be done to make my existance easier. I went to college and came hoe at Christmas to find both my horses, my motorcycle collection, my 1964 Ford Custom 500, my 1967 Ford Galaxie GT390 XL500 were all gone because I wasn't there to look after them. Choices were made in my absence. I would not want you to go through the emotional "h-e -double hockey sticks" that I went through.
Too bad about Bulldozer, but things have a weird of working-out sometimes. Maybe it's for the best.
Oh yeah, 60lb leggy Eurohounds... T'would do better in warmer climates than Alaskans.
I don't need a driver's license but if I were to be pulled over/stopped for some reason I'd need one.
It's amazing the amount of wool we allow to be pulled over our eyes.
Black's Law Dictionary There are 2 seperate definitions for an operator of a vehicle. One is for DRIVER and the other is for TRAVELER.
Google it. you can find it on Youtube too.
Well people, it's getting late here. Goin outside for my "daily" evening cigarette and then hitting the hay. G-nyt all

How many dogs are needed to pull a 250lbs man?
General rule of thumb formula is 50lbs/K9/50-70 mile day. Thats usually for the Sibe sized 40-55lb K9.
If you're gona use Chihuahuas you would most likely need 75 or 80 to make a start for the Iditarod.
If you're going 5 miles or so 3 GShepherdD's would do if properly trained and conditioned.
2 Qimmiqs would go 250lbs for a day of 50 miles. 1 "original" Alaskan Malamute would do a very slow 250lbs for a 25 mile day.
If you are talking Alaskan Husky, 100 mile day X a 3 day weekend = 10 K9s + 1 K9 per 20lbs of gear @ 100lb total gear weight = 15-16 K9's
But if you are skijoring 1 mutt will do.
