Howdy y'all. Look what I woke up to this morn. another 2 inches of new powder. It's only -1*C. Too warm to mush but good for packing trail.

This last my dad's snomo that I use to drag/dress trails. I use a diamond tooth harrow section to drag the trail then flip it over to dress it. Works pretty good.
So tomorrow is supposed to be cooler. Looking to mush then.

Are they the 2 girls? which 1 of the 3 is the male?
I hope Nala does get to have pure Sibe pups. It seems a waste to me o have such a beauty K9 to have mongrel pups. Mind you, I've been called a mongrel too and I'm decently intelligent, decently "good people", decently healthy and decently good looking AND...I am a very good worker.
But still, Sibe girls should have pups with Sibe boys.
"....structurally ?correct? Girl."..... What's wrong with Nala? She looks to me like she's got a healthy, strong body.

The Male is the Chocolate Tri
Nala's back isn't straight and I wish her hips were wider. If I go by the AKC shes not correct. But for a working girl she just needs stronger instincts imo

I see what you mean. Well I can't literally "see" it but I understand.

AKC, CKC, UKC,....the kennel clubs are not interested in the abilities and/or mindset of true "working dog". They are people who standardize to the detriment of far too many breeds of dog. The "fancier" mindset of these people who set these standards are just that...."fanciful". The original Siberian Husky is a far cry from what these kennel clubs set. The original Sibe was(is?) a landrace who's instincts were primarily to pull a sled and of course to be a survivor.
As for Nala's instincts, I know from my own experience that even K9's bred specifically for 'mushing' occasionally throw a pup that does not really "love" pulling. Cull by spay/neuter/?? and place as a pet in a culturally/breed specific appropriate, responsible home setting. That said, you can teach an old dog new tricks. She may not totally love it but she will do it to please you.
imo = In My Opinion? If so, I like that you put that.

Kooleos. Izat yer dawgies? It sure is pretty there. I'd love to go mushing there......if it gets cold enough. My dogs dislike warm weather.
Gee, your gangline sure does have some space in it eh. Heck I could probably put a team of 8 in that length.
Oh ya........racing length is like 8-10 feet aint it.
Only one of the leaders. I borrowed the other two from a friend.

Yeah, I think the racing length is something like that.

Meringue? Good kyna friend to have.
I use only 5&1/2-6' for a length of mainline. I get a passle of dogs into 20 feet from brush-bow to the snap at the end of the lead-dog's tug. Not much fore-vision for running though but works so darn good pulling a sled full of wood on tight curves in the bush. I have one gang-line tho' that has 7&1/2' sections. I use that when I use the Racers and the youngsters. They like running and they need to see a ways in front instead of looking directly at someone's bum. LOL. That's what every other dog besides the leader/s see anyways eh.

Here's some pix of how I prep my trails. My dad's snomo pulling a section of diamond toothed harrows. I go exploring then come home to get the "drag"(teeth down) the dress it(teeth up).
The teeth disturb the snow deep so it freezes deeper. And of course when I flip it over it packs the trail a bit more and smooths it a bit leaving good surface for paw traction and runner slide.
Works better than the "real' drag I bought at an auction a few years ago. Way, way cheaper too.

The screen duct-taped to the cooling vents is to prevent cat-tail fluff(non endemic) from getting into the engine compartment and/or onto the engine itself.
