I've been watching a lot of mushing videos on YouTube lately and man I need a dog to try it (current one is Lab/Great Pyrenees, really lazy, and plus bad hips so we can't anyway) or to join a club or something, Googled and found out there's lots of clubs around here

That's awesome. You're so lucky.
:lauAround here for 200 mile radius I am the club. :lau

That yellow one? Yeah, that's one of them. It doesn't have brakes (well it did, I broke them...) and the axle is the wrong size for the tires. It's like 30yrs old, the frame is good but it needs some upgrades. The new cart that I traded a sled for is newer and nice. I ran it for the first time tonight with 5 dogs and my sister (she was on the yellow cart on FaceBook) I think it's meant for like 3-4 dogs though because it was pretty chaotic for a few miles.
It finally stopped raining here too. It's been foggy lately, like can't see a stop sign until you need to stop, foggy. Pretty bad. But no more rain. It's getting colder and we are expecting snow next week sometime. Just a few inches though. Not enough :(
Speaking of dog boxes, I need to get mine built! :/ I've been kinda behind trying to get my horses sold to pay for the dogs and it's been put off. And I've gotta buy a better racing sled. And gang lines and harnesses. And, and, and.... You know how it goes... :p Anyways, your box should look good after you paint it. I like your sled paint job. :)

"chaotic" I can certainly relate. I can tell you some stories for sure. Scary as dickens when it happened but funny to recall.
Things can and do happen when you mush eh.... We need to keep in mind that our rigs, be they for snow or dry land, need to be rugged if we are gonna be training any amount of dogs. Oh ya...and stoppable.
Gee you're mean to your little sister eh. Kidding.<---Please know that.
I know people want to be coming along. My daughters are still like that. Yes even my 23 year old with 2 daughters still wants to come out with me. That's fine but it seems I do almost all the work of hookingup an unhooking.
And, yes, I do know how it goes. Always upgrades eh. I'm happy for you that at least you have 1 decent trading cart
Geez! I even had to go and harvest a couple deer to make sure my dogs ate yesterday. I prefer meat. Or fish. But I won't be getting fish till it gets cold. That way I can keep it under plywood.

Thanks! I wanted to honor our Veterans so I thought the names were fitting. I love your names! I was planning to name them after the Supernatural characters (Sam, Dean, Castiel, etc) but with only one boy, it didn't make a lot of sense. I'll save those names for another litter :D

The vets take their jobs very seriously.
Don't get me wrong, I ain't a proponent to fighting some else's battles and that's a mixed bag of stuff for me but them that did go and fight did so honouring their own thoughts and feelings.
Again, I can tell you stories. I had a few uncles and grand uncles that fought in both the world wars and friends that went to Vietnam. They told me things that turned my stomach, ripped my heart out and blew my mind.
Thank you for honouring them. Thank you so much.
Oh geez! Kinda choked up now.

Yeah, i guess being in a fairly central location pays sometimes haha wish there were some just a tad closer though but there's still a lot in the area. Maybe I should just move up there :p

Move up here? It gets really really cold sometimes. And summer gets pretty darn hot sometimes. Like 105, 110,115.
And ya, pretty much not central. Actually we call this area the Interlake and in my peoples stories this area is the living heart of "North America"., but what most NA people would cal a "central location".

Sorry should have clarified, meant in New Hampshire where all the sled clubs are :p I'm in Massachusetts so it's north of us by I think a couple hours ,though I think some parts are only an hour away, not really sure, but yeah, meant since it's closer than some of you guys with no clubs but still a little ways away so i should move to the clubs :p where are you again though? Gonna need to move eventually i am sure aha

That's great. Good excercise for both of you. And it can be relaxing.
Also, you never know ......maybe he'll be an excelent mushing dog.
Go for it.

Very true!

And honestly, he'll never be one :/ he's half black Lab and half Great Pyrenees so huge, though I don't think that really matters?, and also really lazy and sleeps most of the day (though personally I think some of that is he's just bored because he's always ready). But the real problem even if I could convince him mushing was fun is I think he has bad hips so probably couldn't pull :( I should have trained him a couple years ago, he's 4, 5 in March, now. He might have liked it but his hips gotten worse :/ but tbh, he would probably just stop running and go on strike eventually when he was done no matter how fit he got LOL

But I still would like to get him a good harness or two. I think it would be fun for walks and stuff. I think we have a couple harnesses but not for sledding or anything and idk they fit anymore. I haven't even been walking him lately, which isn't fair, so maybe I would more if I had a good harness or something aha

I meant to say "but not what most North American people would call a "central location".

Oh. I see. Thank you.
I live about 4 hours north of pretty much where the borders of NorthDakota & Michigan meet the Manitoba border. On a map you'll see Winnipeg( an English basstardization of a Cree word) meaning dirty waters.
Compared to where I live your area is considered high density population.
Lotsa people say there's "lotsa space" but compared to when I was a kid it sure has a lot of people now. But still considered "low density"....
If you do chose a move up,this way you will have plenty of room though. ....and someone you kinda know I guess :)
