CALM DOWN! That's impossible! I'm under a roof with a puppy I realy want that's FREE and my mom said NO! I'm NEVER getting any dogs here! My parents a FREAKEN NUTS! They rather me pay a good $1,000+ for a show dog!

I know it probably ain't gona be much consolation but to let you know,...
I worked hard at training a sweet gentle Appaloosa stallion and a simply gorgeous Arab/App mare. I "gentled" them which was a rather unique way of training back then. All responsibility was mine from cleaning the barn and hauling water by the pail full from the house 400 yards away, to buying and/or making and hauling hay to paying vet bills. Things were said that caused me to believe the horses were mine. I took pride in "my" horses intelligence, gentleness and stamina.
At one point we only had Grade 9 in our area so I had to leave to further my education like my folks wanted. When I came home for Christmas the horses were both gone. My dad had sold them and bought this ugly headed, stubborn half wild Quartehorse/mule looking thing with an ungainly gait.
Phew! I was really really really....

But that was when I was 14. Quite a long time ago.

Like I said, probably ain't much consolation but at least you know I have an idea where your coming from.

I hope you do it soon. It sure builds character.
Last summer I bought a piece of traditional smoke tanned hide from a Chinese fulla at a powwow. It was about 2feetX1ft5in. Cost me $33.21 Cdn.
I bought because I prefer lazy. Actually not lazy, more like too much other stuff to do. Like posting here. LOL

My family is a big hunting family but we haven't been able to go hunting much these past two years. Mainly because of the horses and now cows that have to be taken care of. But when I shoot my first animal I want to keep the hide.

I'm in the same boat, the no more dogs thing. Except the $1000 show dog, that ain't happenin' either.

I just need to convenes mom to let me get him!!
Any ideas?

Maybe ask her why not? If she says food will cost too much, say you will pay for every bit (and keep this promise) If she doesn't want another dog because of space, think if you could maybe get rid of another animal. (Not "get rid of" exactly but sell/give away). That's what I'm trying to do but my mom won't answer when I ask.

that story makes me sad.

They will gain weight and then the next week they are too thin
:)

And you're feeding them the same thing/amount all the time?
Always the same amount of exercise?
Worms? They have 2 week cycle....???....
My dogs weights fluctuate too. The winter weather is real hard on them.
Actually more specifically the cold is hard on them. Rightnow it's only around-20*C. Last night it was -30*C at 1:00AM. That's when I last soaked up the fire. Anyhow at 5AM I got up to check the fire, it was -41*C. That's hard to keep weight on dogs. Aw, that cold killed all my leghorn roosters.

They are eating more now because its cold.
Their exercise hasn't changed.
All are dewormed and are fixed.

I try to keep enough bedding in their houses so they aren't using so much energy at night. The problem in the weather in unpredictable so nights they are using tons of energy to keeping warn and other nights they aren't using any.

It's "no more dogs" and " to many dogs right now" only 5 inside! That's not alot! My older brothers coming over sat, so im gunna see how soon he's taking him dog. Then I'm gunna bring up a few things and see where the conversation goes with my older sister, she if she's moving out and taking her crappy dog, SHE DOESN'T EVEN WANT HER!! Then ima gunna see when my other brothers moving out( I want his room) and see if he's taking nala. 2-3 should be leaving soon.
Any more ideas?
