oh well. I would go to see a vet to make sure all is going well
I get to miss school when she whelps
aw boo!
I woke to light snow this AM. It's cold enough here that we need a sweater to go outside.
I was reconfiguring my kennel layout yesterday. I ate brekky @ 6, had a second brekky @ 1030, lunch @ 230 and finally had supper @ 8. All I did after that was get my horse from the feild.
And because I didn't have a sweater under my coveralls I got a bit of a chill. My neck is sore from the wind. Apparently that's what happens sometimes with old mushers so be careful. Turtleneck sweaters or a dicky is good.
I still tons of work to do. Just posting a little before I get mobile.
I hate spring when it's too cold for long rubbers and too warm for moccasins. Dogs get cut feet from the freezing and thawing. Just like this week. I hope winter is nice. Not all deadly cold and wicked storms like last year.
Dogs evolved for thousands and thousands of years to carry and birth in secret. Secrecy = safety = survival.
Did y'all know that even petting your dog can be not but a source of stress for him/her.. Now you do. Stress can harm the expecting mom and the whelps inside.
People have told me I'm like a dog. I like being around others sometimes but sometimes I just sneak off and go be by myself and do my own thing.
Dogs are not little furry frail humans.
Quote from ????, "The road to disaster is oft paved with good intentions."
Years ago when my canisfamiliarusbitch were in whelp and I was over protective I did more harm than good.
Now I am different. I am cognizant that if they have a healthy diet, healthy appetite, healthy attitude I don't fret too much. I no longer invade their privacy. I just be close by if they need me. They let me know.

Aw that's cool. Please respect her need for privacy when she's whelping. And lower the light level. Remember for thousands of years pups were born in a den with very low light levels.
To be quite up front and honest I am also excited about Nala whelping out .
We're not going to step in unless she needs help.
She's panting more, she's alot more restless and she's lazeyer
