Could all you experts help me out? I have found a some chickens in my area. I am in search of pullets though since my city does not allow roos. I love americaunas, and am so pleased to have found someone who has some for sale. The only think is that she does not know if they are pullets or roos. I am a newbie, but I hope they all are pullets....what do you all say????
She says they are 4-5 weeks:

all three (ain't they stunning!?!?!):

Best to wait a few more weeks - the first pic - the one on the right looks like it MIGHT be a ROo - but they are still really young - wait till 8 weeks and take more pic's!

I agree, it's too early to know for sure, but I would guess that the one on the right with the redder comb might be a roo.

We have Easter Eggers (McMurray Hatchery's "Araucanas") and I can tell the roos by 3 weeks of age due to their combs being redder at that age, as opposed the the girls combs being paler. I've never gone by the rows in their combs since they are "mutts", basically.

We actually have an EE roo with a single comb and one with a pea comb.

bungaree,

In the first pic, the one on the right looks like a roo to me too since 4 - 5 weeks old is way too early for the girls to be getting ready to lay.

Hope this helps!
