Hello all-

I'm a newb to this site and to chickens in general. We have a flock of 8. A cuckoo maran rooster and hen, 2 Easter Egger hens, and 4 Americauna hens. The last week or so one of my Americauna hens stopped bedding down for the night in the coop. She seems healthy and is with the flock during the day. Any suggestions? My thoughts have been to just put her in the coop myself when I close it up for the night but I don't want to force her into the flock if they've ousted her or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Steve

For her safety, I'd place her in the coop each night. Look her over pretty well during the day to look for signs of bullying by the other birds.

Is she not going inside at all even when it is dark? Then I would lock her in the coop for a couple days to a week to re-establish where home is. You may need to lock the whole gang up, too. That's what I always do with new chicks.
