If Hot Rod is in fact a rooster, could he and our Silkie rooster live harmoniously if they grow up together??? We already love this chicken and would hate to see him go.

It really depends on their personality. Sometimes there can be some squabbles, but if there is some full blown fighting, you could create another pen for him and 'his girls'. Thats a valid pointThat's a perfect example of the difference between a b/w cockerel and pullet. The OP's chick isn't even fully feathered and already has comb growth and reddening. But, I'd be suspicious even without that early comb development just because of the stark white wing patch. I really don't think this one is a maybe at all.
