I'm not sure about gender but EE'S and Ameraucanas are not the same thing. Ameraucanas are a purebred type of chicken where as EE'S are blue or rainbow egg layers that have ameraucana or arucana in the bloodlines. Unfortunately due to confusion and hatchery indiscretions, many, many EE's are sold as purebred birds.

Ok..thanks ...that clears up a lot. I bought them from TSC as straight run Americaunas. She/He maybe too young yet to tell gender. Only 8 weeks now.

I will guess rooster, only because the comb is much bigger and redder than my two of the same age, and the tail is super stand you sj, and the patterning looks spotty, not even throughout. I could be wrong though.

Thanks all... I was thinking that she might be a he...one of the leghorns and this one go at each other and this one puffs right up to her. Familiar from the last BR that turned out to be a He.

TSC only carries EEs, no matter what the bin says. You'll only get an Ameraucana from a breeder.

He's definitely not too young. That is 100% rooster. There's no way a hen would have that color pattern.
