Eh, I don't like butchering pet chickens. They're usually only good for soup, if that. Plus, the whole time, you're thinking, "wow, Sylvia sure is chewy".Thanks for that info. Sad to know that Silvia is a Sylvester..lol. I see that you mentioned having cockerel EE in the meat pen...we currently (till this wknd) have 5 Cornish X ready for processing. How are the EE as far as meat go? We are new to the whole meat chicken thing too. Don't know if I we would be able to put him on the chopping block since they are my babies (the youngest) and we named her/him already. Hmmmm
Compared to your broilers, they'll be skinny and tougher. But if you process them before 14 weeks, they will be quite tasty.
