Ameriflower (MPC) x Blue Ameraucana Roo

Anyone know if this one is male or female. It’s my favorite one so hoping female but think it may be male.

Im assuming the white came from the rooster bc he’s a blue Ameraucana. So he would pass the splash gene right? Both hen and rooster are good size dual purpose so I don’t think they’d be small. I don’t think the AF hen has Faverolle she has a crest she was from MyPetChicken so I’m not sure how they breed for their AF.

The splash is not exactly a specific gene. It is 2 copies of the blue gene. If the bird has no copies of the blue gene, it is black (or black background). If it has one, it is blue/gray in color, and if it has 2, it is splash. In order for you to get the splash, one copy of the blue gene came from the rooster, and one came from the hen. Since clearly both have that blue gene, you do not know exactly who gave that gene for all those blues, but they got one blue from one parent and one non-blue (black) from the other parent. Typically in a cross like this, you will see 25% black, 50% blue, and 25% splash.

UPDATE! Here is how they look today! Pretty much full grown! I ended up with only two females and I kept the white male. I couldn’t get rid of him he’s aweosme his coloring and the crest! The one hen didn’t want photographed lol but she’s a dark blue with no crest

They are beak blinders . I had to put them on bc they were pecking each other so bad. And half had bare backs and no tails. So I put them on so they could grow their feathers back for winter. I hate having them on but they do just fine when them thankfully.

For a moment I thought flashback to the olden days. Red glasses - always wondered how they kept them on. Knock on wood, to date I have had no pecking problems with any of my chickens. Horrible habit to have.

Wow he did turn out with gorgeous coloring! I have never heard of an Ameriflower. I love BYC as I learn something new every day!

Ameriflower??? Sold by mypetchicken - not much information is given except that it is an unrecognized breed Cross of an Ameracauna and something: Perhaps a Swedish Flower - rooster shown below. EE eggs. Expensive!!!

Way back in the 70's I crossed ARAUCANAS with Faverolle and I think they are doing the same for Ameracuana now: Favaucana - as with my experience then (some were rumpless) these should be great.
