Ameriflower (MPC) x Blue Ameraucana Roo

Very pretty parents and it will be fun to see how the chicks turn out and what their eggs are like. Congrats!

My apologies - my sense of humor sometimes misses. "Much easier than shipping the Rooster." was really meant as a joke - I would never think of shipping a live rooster~ Who would even deliver such a crowing package?
As for the eggs and shipment - that was meant to be instructional. I have even seen poultry raisers who send the eggs BADLY - That video did a great job in explaining the needs.
Used to be in the rare plant shipping mail order business and had to learn different packaging needs for different plants. Was difficult - and then you got into weather issues, which would also relate to shipping fertile eggs.

Shipping eggs is easy. Here is one good link.

Main thing is to keep the air bubble end up and to package with a lot of cushioning. Then LABEL the package THIS SIDE UP.
Amazes me how often this is ignored but you can at least try. More shock absorbent material should have been put on the bottom - lots of stuff to use. Generally the hatch rate is questionable, but 50 percent is something to shoot for. Distance traveled makes a difference esp. if it is re handled often.
Much easier than shipping the Rooster.
Here is a better shot at my two. One EE and one OE.

Thanks for the info! That does look fairly easy! I really like your roosters especially the white and black one! The feathers are so awesome

Well, the person who supplied me with Olive Egger pullets sure pulled a fast one on me. Two were roosters and I have given one away already. This larger black and silver one will be next. Issue being that most of my chickens cans be mated to either and I prefer the coloration potential, size and egg color of the Easter Egger rooster.
Aside from my one blueish Ameracauna the rest have the normal colors that add to free range concealment.
The offspring of the Speckled Sussex (larger bird) would also be downsized by the smaller gold rooster - also a pretty combination (olive egger chicks) the Amethyst Gems - same thing.
Only my two Cuckoo Maran's or Amethyst Gems might benefit with interesting chicks with a cross with the black and silver.
The few OE and EE pullets would not be served by using either of their brothers as mate material. No eggs from them would be kept for incubation.
This Easter Egger coloration is one I like:

Just lost a bird to stupidity. For some reason they got into my greenhouse/work area and one of my Sussex drowned in the half empty 50 gallon water barrel I kept in there. How she managed to get to the top I have no clue but it was awful finding her floating in there.
Outside I have a similar rain barrel but I cover it and or have floating one gallon milk jugs to keep the birds from entering the water.
Sometimes the home environment can be as deadly as a predator. These three (now two) Speckled Sussex were my friendliest and most trusting, innocent of birds. :-(

Oh my gosh! That’s sad to hear! Sorry it’s always the favorites too. They definitely get into everything they aren’t supposed to

Where did the white gene come from? Looks like you got 2 grey blue ones and the rest are more normal Ameracauna colors. Size of parents? Was a Faverolle influence seen in the Ameriflower??? - she seemed to be a smaller bird than the Faverolle. Was it something else?
Looks like they will be a size I like. LOVE your rooster.

Im assuming the white came from the rooster bc he’s a blue Ameraucana. So he would pass the splash gene right? Both hen and rooster are good size dual purpose so I don’t think they’d be small. I don’t think the AF hen has Faverolle she has a crest she was from MyPetChicken so I’m not sure how they breed for their AF.

4 Weeks Old some have the crests for sure which is awesome. If anyone has any pointers on male or female or ideas, guesses I’d love to hear it. My gut says there’s a lot of boys in the group.
