I have a hen with an ear infection. I have her some ear drop. I was reading that you can give amoxicillin. I have 500mg tablets. How much water do I dissolve them in and then how much do I give her. She is not a laying hen.

I wouldnt dissolve the tablets at all. Use a pill cutter and quarter the 500mg tablet (4 quarters).
Give her two quarters, one at a time in the morning orally (250mg). Then give her the other two quarters orally before going to roost in the evening. You'll be giving her 500mg a day altogether. Do this for 5 days. Ensure she is fed only layer feed and nothing else, provide fresh clean water for her to drink.
