Hey just womdering if anyone knows of any device that you can ourchase which would set off an alarm, or better still, an alarm and also a wifi/internet alert to a device in the following situations:
Heat source is unplugged
Heat source is not getting power (ie power outtage)
Or a temperature controller/monitor which would alert if the temperature went above or below set parameters, and which would function even if there was a power outtage.
Does anyone know of any products which will do this? i am in New Zealand but happy to buy something overseas and also buy adapters, as long as it will work in 240v power which is what is standard mains in nz
Links and suggestions most welcome.
Asking after a couple of times in the last couple of days when a heat source (one for an autumn duckling, one for a vulnerable duck) plug came loose and I did not realise. And because more than once i have wished I could get something to alert me, as there can be times when I have young ducklings relying quite heavily on heat lamps, and also can have cold weather overnight during spring, and if the power went out when I was asleep, (which it can here during spring as we have overhead power lines and get crazy winds often in spring), they would get cold.
I have a generator for power outages but if i am sound asleep and the power goes out at like 3am the generator is not going to be any use (as it needs me to get up, go outside and yank the cord till it starts, also switch cables from the mains connection to the generator, etc) .
Sp must wondering if anyone knows of one or more devices that would:
Option 1. Alarm me if a heat lamp was off (option 1 even better:and ideally have an option to alert me online, which would mean their own mobile sim card and connection, as if i was out and the power went down so would my starlink connection)
Option 2. Anything that will alert me if temperature gets too hot or cold, ideally via an alarm on the device and again as above an alert via a mobile connection. I do have temperature controllers but they just turn heat sources on and off and don't set off alarms if it gets too hot or if the power goes out and it is too cold...
I guess with the mobile connection i could always get w cheap mobile phone with a data plan and then mobile alerts would only require the device to have wifi as i could connect it to the mobile phone, rather than my starlink and then if the mains oower went out i shouod still get an alert if not home.
