I was reading the news today and found this article about gynandromorphs, for anyone who's interested:

http://www.livescience.com/14209-gynandromorph-birds-genetic-anomaly-sex-identity.html

There have been a few discussions about these birds in this forum, but they're all kind of old now so I figured I might as well start a new one. For those who haven't read the older posts, a gynandromorph is an animal that is female on one half of it's body and male on the other half. It's been seen mostly in chickens and other birds, and sometimes they look like they are split right down the middle with different coloration on each side.

Very neat! Kind of like chimerism in mammals...but different.
