I would drive just about anywhere for these little guys! But really the hatchery is only about a 4 hour drive from me. But would cost me less to have them shipped to me than to drive there. $20 to ship vs close to $200 for gas. Yup, shipping won.

And you have personally visited your post office, left phone numbers, and emphasized that you will come at any hour that the chicks arrive! Be nice, and thankful, and be ready to go immediately when you are called.
Also find out if it's possible to pick them up at the regional postal service building.
And we've loved our bantam Brahmas, big for bantams, lovely birds. The standard sized Brahmas haven't been as terrific. Consider bantams!

My husbands name is one letter off from a word, and I have to type his name a bunch of times when I text to get it to not correct! One of my pet peeves.

Long ago MMcM shipped us bantam Brahmas rather than the standard birds we ordered. Then they shipped us the standard birds when we let them know about the mix-up. All lovely birds! The bantams lived much longer, and seemed smarter, at least to us. All the roosters were nice too. And the standard birds lived maybe three years, while some of the bantams have been 'teenagers'.
