Hope this is in the right spot. What if we could "star" forum threads that we especially like? In Gmail, I can add a star to a conversation, so I can easily find it later. I put a star on pertinent emails. I would love to be able to do this in the BYC forums. Say I was looking into how to cull a chicken, how to process a quail, how to treat bumblefoot, what poultry shows were coming up in my area, etc etc... if I could star particular threads so I could easily find them later, that would really help when time is a bit critical and I need an answer quickly.

You can add it to your subscribed topics. I like to save very important info in a Word document, updating as needed.

That is true.

Is there a way to turn off the email notifications, however, for whenever the topic is updated?

If you unsubscribe, then the email notifications stop.

When you subscribe to a thread, you are telling the system that you want to be kept updated on new activity.

If you just want to bookmark, you can make a folder in your favorites in your browser and add the thread to your favorites.

I created a folder where all my forum updates are automatically sent... and I belong to a lot of forums. Outlook, gmail, and pretty much every other email client has really cool rules and filters.

Example: in Outlook I created a "Posts" folder and have a "rule" that says: Any email with subject = "Reply to topic" move to folder and mark as read.

I agree with Terrie. I keep a word document specifically to hold links to threads and web sites. If I have a topic I want to look up or to give a link to answer a question on here, it is easy.
