I believe that there's some truth to what the old farmer said.

My dog Blackie is chasing rabbits everytime I turn around from my garden!!! But the strange thing is that my first hatch of this year I think that I have 100% pullets!!!

The populations of animals such as rabbits and foxes do have regular up and down swings. The ratios of male to female of a certain species will not change significantly from year to year.
