A peacock just showed up on our property a couple of hours ago. I'd heard him crowing for a couple of months but hadn't seen him. I grabbed my camera and a container of chicken feed and ran out the door. He was gorgeous! I shook feed out of the container onto the ground and he came within a few feet of me. I was sitting down and taking pics. I've had a long day and am exhausted right now, but will post pics tomorrow if anyone is interested in what a stray peacock looks like, LOL!

Awesomeness

That was me about 4 months ago. Our guy has stayed, roosting in our elm tree, and I'm about to buy a couple of peahens to keep him around.

I'd suggest not feeding him regularly unless you also anticipate 'adopting' him (it's really more like he's adopted us!), but then again, without potential mates he's just as likely to move on...

Sorry for the delay, but here's some pics of him (I took about 20 plus some videos). I hope he stays. Actually, my stepson over the bank says he's been around for over a year now. I just have to convince this boy that the grass is greener over here, LOL!

Ha ha ha - this is how we got started with peafowl years ago. A handsome male just showed up and decided to call our property "home". The rest is history....enjoy! They are addictive.
