So my 3 little Ancona babies are now 4 weeks old. When I got them, I placed them with a little WH x KC duckling that we hatched that is a week older than them since it was all by itself. They have all been pretty standoffish up until now. Yesterday was the first day that I let them in with my big girls (7 week old buff and KC). It was in the 80's all day so I put them out in what I call the nursery, which is a 20 x 20 blocked off area where i have all of my chicks and ducklings. I made to sure to do the proper introductions for 2 weeks prior to allowing them to be with them to assure that they wouldn't be picked on. When I went out to put everyone up for the night, I brought out a handful of food and tried luring them over. It took a while, but eventually the little chocolate one became curious and walked over to my hand and started eating. The others instantly followed. I went ahead and fed them and made sure to stay close by as they ate. After that, they would follow me around and would come running as soon as soon as I called them. I went out to feed them this morning, and they were all more than happy to see me. I believe the chocolate one may be a female as I'm already starting to hear the raspy sound of the beginning of a quack. Previously, everyone on hear believed that I had a lilac rather than a blue. Now that the colors are more defined, does this still stand true?
