Hello. I definitely need some fast advice from you, even though it may be too late... There is no vet available so everything leans on your help now. I have an adult duck for a week now. She was resqued 2 weeks ago from a trash can and she is at my home for a week. I keep her separated from the other ducks because I was afraid not to bring some disease. At first she was almost crazy and it was very easy to see that she was abused because she was terrified by people. But she was eating well and was active. Unfortunately, this morning she was totally in a bad mood: she was not eating, not walking or standing up and was cold all over. I thought it was a hypothermia because in here there is negative temperature (although the other ducks i have, have absolutely no problem with the weather). So I warmed her slowly and she seemed better but she's actually even worse... No movement, no reaction, nothing. I gave her some vitamins and eritromycin and tylosin in the morning and now I feed her forced with some protein. And, of course, I also gave her some water. I don't know what else I may try or what causes this thing. Do you have any idea? What else can I gave her? I have searched on the net but I cannot find something similar for now, taking into account that she looked healthy for 2 weeks. And another question: right now she stays in the same room with my parrots and other exotic pets. Is there any risk to transmit them something? I didn't have any other option for her housting, unfortunately...
Thank you.

Thank you.
You can give her a bath with luke-warm water. In case she is in fact egg-bound that would release the tension, if she is still hypothermic it will help her to warm up, if she is having pain in her legs or hip it will take weight of the joints and finally she can drink as much water as she needs.

I'm sorry the little chicken died! But you tried your best...you made her comfortable and fed and cared for her. She was in such a better place because of you! Bless you for being so gentle and compassionate...and remember that even if she was afraid of you for her past treatment, she realized on some level that she now had food and water and someone with a gentle touch when you had to handle her.

Thank you for the replies. She was pooping well and from the physical exam i don't think there was egg bound. But who knows now.
Unfortunately she died a few hours ago... no previous signs, no symptoms, just today, suddenly.
Very sorry for your loss. :hugs
