Ok so i'm building a little coop to move my small breeds out of with the big ones. My plans is a 4'x8' coop for like 6 bantams/silkies. I'm worried about it blowing over though. Here is my plans/set up so far.

Done list
base is 4"x4" every 2 feet with 3, 2"x4"s flat across them long ways with 3/4" plywood on top.

plan to do this weekend.
Front wall will mainly be a 5'x5.5' double pane window. back/sides will be 3/4" plywood, supports ever 24", single footer, double header, 2"x'3"s for foot/head/supports, Will be 6' front 5' back, 8ft each side so the 4ft sides will be angled. Rafters will be 2"x4"s with 3, 2"x4"s flat across them then tin on top.

This is built on black top that I will break up to put anchors into. My problem is what anchors to put where without having trip lines all over the place. I live in upstate NY which I think should be called west state cause i'm an hour south of buffalo 15ish miles from lake erie on a hill. So good high lake winds hit us up here.

I want to build it then attach the anchors if I can 1 per corner. But I don't know what to use to put in ground or attach them to coop.

thanks

it's a lot simpler to sink the 4x4's a good foot and secure with quick drying cement, that you can pour into the hole dry, then pour water in on top. I think the brand is Quickrete but not sure.

you can buy concrete anchors at your local building supply you can bolt them to the concrete footings or some are set into the concrete wile still wet lots of options.

Ok I have floor built and it will be on ground so no concrete pouring. this isn't a raised coop. the 4x4's are laid flat on ground 4feet across then 2x4's across them long ways then plywood then rest of coop. I tried digging my ground but it seems it's nothing but rocks. So I built this flat on the black top but need a way to secure it into the black top almost thinking like an imbedded dog leash thing but I don't know how to do it really.

you don't have to raise it to have concrete footings, dig your holes in your 4 corners pour concrete level with each corner. When the mix sets place coop on footings and anchor it down.no need to elevate it . If it's a piece of bed rock or granite drill the rock and attach with angle iron with concrete anchors ? or place four 2'x2' patio stones on your floor to weight it down, my coop and run must weigh 1000 lbs plus the weight of the sand which keeps it grounded , it would have to be a tornado to blow it over. Good luck let us know how it turns out.
