Yesterday, only two eggs

That lighter egg looks more like it was laid by a hen.

Today's gather

Top egg (OEGB) was dropped, cracked  so I will have it for breakfast tomorrow. Light egg bottom right might be from an OEGB, but could be from Abigail or Esther. The wee egg on the left is probably Hannah's. She'll be three years old in a few days, but has always laid smaller eggs. The one time I incubated one of her eggs it quit early.

The auction house is starting up again in mid March, and I'm considering rehoming Jacob, Zack's son from last July. He's still behaving himself as far as I can tell, but there's been a bit of drama in the Sussex coop lately. Hannah could go, too, she's never been more than an occasional layer, and produces small eggs when she does lay.

Cleaned out half of Coop One this afternoon, put the straw/manure mixture in four of my raised beds, to the top!

In the fourth bed I added the second layer of blocks, then the debris.

I'm just going to let the beds sit, and age, but will turn the debris under closer to planting.

I'll try to do more after church tomorrow.

Haha maybe in Southern Michigan! Snow in my yard is still up above my knees, not a spot of dirt to be found
Forecast says it will be around 72F (22C) tomorrow.
It was nice today too, the sun felt good on my bare arms...🤭

False Spring I'm sure. We'll have some nice days, then it will probably tank.

I saw the Easter Bluebirds flirting about in the yard today and of course going in and out of the nesting boxes. They are hoping for Spring too❤️

Has anyone used these for a raised bed? I've never heard of them before but they look very interesting

Yes, I have some of those.
I like them, but we'll probably dismantle the beds this spring. They are in a place where its somewhat hard to mow and a lot of weedeating is involved. As we get older, the Hubby wants to eliminate some of the weedeating.

Plus, they are low to the ground...but of course you can build them higher, just get some rebar and drive through the center hole of the blocks to stabilize.

He built 2 elevated beds last year for me to use and hopefully he'll decide to build me a couple of more, we'll see. I much prefer having beds at about hip/waist height.
