This is my first experience with anconas (only had mallards that I bought as adults) :) But i have done a lot of research on them and they sound awesome! Still no pipps or anything but its still early, and they are still moving and chirping. I could be wrong (likely), and it may just be my imagination (also likely), but judging by the movement, and the fact that I can see that the ducklings whole head is in the air cell, I would say ill have pipps by morning. This ends day 24 of incubation and begins day 25. I have stared at these eggs for so long that I dream about them every night.

Still talk to them because that will helping with bonding once they hatch.

We have pipps!!!! I woke up this morning and looked in the bator, and two of the three are pipped!! Soo happy. My eggs are numbered 1,3 and 4. I originally had 6, the other three had detached air cells, but I set them anyway just to see if they would develop or not... they didnt, so i threw them out on day 10. So im left with 1,3,4. This morning 1 and 3 are pipped and 4 is still taping and squirming around.

You can kinda see one of the pip on 1 here... bad quality pic, sorry. My good camera is charging, so better pics to follow.

Some progress today. Egg 4 pipped, and egg 1 has enlarged the size of its original pip a bit. they are all still rocking around some. Man oh man, this is really wearing on my nerves, ducks are slow as christmas!!! There is certainly a big difference between this and hatching chicken eggs lol. Luckily the next batch of eggs ill be setting in my bator will be Golden Laced Wyandotte Chickens, three week incubation period and near instant hatches, I cant wait. I look so forward to having these three little duckies safe in the brooder though. Lots of snow in my area tonight, everyone just pray my power does not go out. I burn wood as my heat source though, so i guess i could always open the furnace enough to make in about 95 degrease in my living room hahaha.
