Ancona Ducks

Pics
I ordered last year from Heritage Turkey/Plum Run, they were shipped so I did not see their facilities. The ducklings all arrived alive, however they sent me 2 1 week old ducklings, because they "didn't have enough to fill my order". I though that was odd. As for the quality, I would say the Ancona's left something wanting. They were all overmarked and I received an all white one, a crested one, and a pencilled one. All in an order of just 10. I wouldn't recommend them either.

Second Aurora Springs or Boondockers. I have some coming from Sand Hill Preservation.

We have an Ancona duck colors website here: http://worthitfarms.jigsy.com/ancona-colors

It has good full color photos. I tried to get different angles for the Lavender & Blue because of different computer screens having a slightly different setting.

I don't have any pictures of these up yet, but I have photos on my computer that I could post if anyone was interested:

Buff-Chocolate - a work in progress, trying to talk to Dave H. about what this is
Penciled - considered a tricolor
Light Blue - lighter version of blue, but same genetics
Silver, not splashed - I have a single photo of a silver drake I had that was strongly marked with silver, not the splashy silver on my site.

Great information and pictures on here! Even though I no longer have anconas I still like to look at pictures!
NYRIR - I was going to order from them but had a byc member thats been breeding birds a long time said to stay away from them. He visited their facilities and said he was shocked how the birds were housed. And this is my opinion but the pictures of their anconas they have as breeding stock are WAYYYYY to heavily marked and shouldnt be breeding as they will pass that on to their offspring. I highly reccomend Aurora Springs for your Anconas! Great colors and great people to deal with! I'm pretty sure they are going to ship ducklings this year?

I will probably be getting some next year from Aurora Springs....I appreciate the heads up.

Thanks for the info. Do you have pics of those ducks?

I want to also give a mention to Thistle Down Farms in California. The breeder is a dvm and has high quality stock. Their packaging is the best I've seen, and fertility is excellent.

I'm not shipping ducklings out yet, but plan to start later this year. However I do ship hatching eggs and have orders going out all the time. You can visit my website at www.coyotenightacres.weebly.com I currently only have black and chocolate but I'll be adding more colors this fall. All our birds are house in large yards/pastures and shut up at night. They have access to fresh green grass, bugs, fresh pool and even visits to the big pond every now and then. We have great feedback on our hatching eggs and packaging. Please keep us in mind for ordering hatching eggs.

Pics of the Plum Rum ducks or the Sand Hill ducklings? I haven't received the SH ducklings yet, not till April. I should have some of the adult ducks from Plum Run...

That would be good! I had already ordered....I did a search on here and had not found any info....then this

Oh well, so I raise these up and sell them as pets. Maybe I'll get lucky....and get one or two decent ones...

I have eggs incubating from Aurora Springs and plan on going to pick on ducklings from Boondockers, too. I'll post pics when I have them.
