Ancona Ducks

I have 6 Ancona ducks. Four females and 2 males. I've had them about 1 1/2 years. I like ducks more than chickens. They are more entertaining. And I like to eat duck more than chicken.

I have killed 2 drakes and eaten them. I felt sorry for them but it's the way of nature.

I have 4 Ancona duck adult females. In November through January I'm getting about 1 duck egg a day. It should start increasing soon.

So far, my anconas aren't laying nearly as well or predictably as my welsh harlequins. Going to have to pen them up for a few days to make sure they aren't laying someplace else that the dog can get them. Was really hoping to have something to start hatching by now

Goodness.... our plan is to bring ancona ducks on board next year but after reading through this thread and looking at the pictures it's going to be hard to be patient!! Beautiful, just beautiful!!

The ducks were crazy silly in the snow the past couple days. I love their tracks.

has anyone used the brinsea mini for duck eggs? ive got 6 that were shipped putting in tomorrow so just curious if anyone has used this one?
