This is my first time with Anconas and I'm thinking their combs are rather large for their age.. can anyone that is more familiar with Anconas identify if these littles could be cockerels or pullets yet? they are 5wks old tomorrow :)

I would say that is a cockerel. Even if Ancona's have large combs, i think it is still the same as other breeds. The rooster's comb is going to grow first. I do not have Anconas, but don't know why it would be different. If i am wrong, please correct me!

Both genders have very large combs. Size is not a reliable indicator, since pullets can have combs just as large as the males. With this breed, you have to wait till the combs pink up. Like with other breeds, males pink up much earlier on than the females.

I got an oops Ancona cockerel last year. He was obviously a he by 4 weeks of age. Yours look like pullets to me.
