Ancona with possible neurological issues

I let her out of the crate so she could take a few steps. Amazingly, they look much steadier than yesterday, albeit not good enough to keep her out of the crate. Tail is still down. I gave her some food and she ate about 3 tablespoons. :fl Go ahead and still do the flush? I have epsom salts on hand.

She laid an egg this morning.

I am so glad to hear that your girl is hanging in there. It is obvious that you are a devoted duck mom and that you try to take the best care of them possible. Please don’t feel bad that you don’t have the resources that some may have to buy separate feed, have expensive vet visits, etc. it is pretty clear that you do everything you can for your flock. I hope that she continues her path to recovery.

Did you give her more vitamins this am?

And the egg has a nice hard shell? Not saying if she is a good once a day layer that doesn't take much time off from laying she could not be depleted in some calcium, I haven't read of it causing neurological issues though but skeletal is def one to be concerned about I'd offer her some Calcium citrate[I believe it was @Amiga] that said her vet rec this form of calcium for her duck. also cal gluconate is another that she rec. I have Runners and Buffs who lay like gang busters and once in a while I'll get a rubber egg and I'll add some cal citrate[capsule I open and put into their drinking water] only takes a few days for egg to be hard again.

As for flush if she is eating and you think getting stronger hold off and see how she progresses during the day. Do you have any poultry vitamins. Might add some to her drinking water.

Nope. Going to soon.

Quite hard. They have free choice oyster shell too, if that has any bearing on anything. She lays a medium sized egg every day.

I have Nutridrench. I gave her 1 ml direct last night, and was going to add it to her water shortly. She's currently standing up at the gate of the crate looking rather annoyed. Thank you!
