And Ducks!

So we added a pair of Pekin ducks to our yard and she’s sitting on 12 eggs! We’ve arranged separate coops and pools for the ducks hoping to have ducklings in a few weeks. I’m wondering, will my drake be mean to the ducklings? So far he’s been guarding the hen well while she diligently sits on her nest. I’m a little worried, should I separate him when they hatch?

Watch him closely. In my experience most drakes have been fine with ducklings, but some have attempted to kill them.
