I keep a plastic Easter egg in each of my girls' nest boxes, the kind that can be split open, and filled with goodies. They are, of course, very light weight, and the girls seem to like playing soccer with them, and kicking them all about the coop. And, also of course, they tend to break open at the seam during these soccer games.
This afternoon I went out to collect eggs, and this is what I found!
So appropriate - just in time for Easter
At first I thought she had somehow pushed her egg into the plastic one. But when I removed the egg the end that had been inside was still damp (though cool enough to show that it had been laid awhile before), so I think she must have actually laid the egg in the plastic one! It was an exact fit too! I was a little concerned that I might break it during removal.
I have no idea how she managed this trick - unless my DH was playing games with me. But this isn't his usual form of humor, so I tend to doubt that it was him.
Chickens ...... endlessly amusing!
