I was at my sister's house yesterday and we were discussing breeds. Well, we started talking about the right way to say "Cuckoo". She is a school teacher, but i still doubted her. So she got out her dictionary, she was right.

It is actually pronounced, coo-coo, not cuh-coo. I felt kinda silly, but, live and learn I guess. I actually have a friend though, that says chuckoo.

or heard a cuckoo clock? Perhaps it is the area of the country you are in? I hope this doesn't make you feel down but I never heard it pronounced any way other than "coo-coo".
