we've eaten now and it was great!!!! The breasts carved like a turkey. the seven of us ate and there is still thighs and various bits left. My hubby is trying to get me to agree to get more, but for now this is good enough. I cannot explain the sense of accomplishment when I look in the freezer (just put them in) I know I am gonna keep going downstairs to look!

We are thinking of getting meat chickens. Sounds like that was a good sized bird. Can I ask what kind was it?

edited to say: My dh and I both like the idea of knowing where our food comes from. Especially with all the scares you see in the last few years and how they treat some animals. At least our own animals would not be mistreated or mishandled.
