I had a skunk and a raccoon in my coop that killed about 20 of my chickens, (they have been trapped and disposed of), I have made another order for chicks this year. I have ordered 3 Black Copper Marans, 1 Blue Splash Marans, 5 Salmon Faverolle, 5 Exchequer Leghorn, 4 Anacona, 3 Black Astralorp and 3 Golden Buff, all female. They are coming from Meyer, and will ship next Monday, July 30. They are also including a Meyer Meal Maker.
Please take a few minutes and check around your coop! Somehow these critters got into my coop and had a hayday killing chickens. I found a very small hole in the back of the coop, and we think the skunk and the coon got in when they were small and got trapped in there and were living underneath a concrete pad that seperates my 2 coops. The hole has been sealed up and I have had no more problems, but it was heart breaking to lose all those laying hens.
