My ducks are 13 weeks old. I just witnessed my female lay flat on the water and my male mount her and dunk her head completely under the water. She got away thank goodness. Are they just practicing b/c I wouldn't think they are really ready for this at 13 weeks..?

Ducks are extremely sexual even at a young age. Water is an exciting place..All young animals play sexual games. It's normal and nothing to be concerned about..

Water = mating. Even if it’s only a bucket! The male will bob his head to see if the female is willing.... and I’ve found that my ladies are flusies! They love to ‘assume the surfboard position’ and wink at the male!!!
