So heres my light sussex chicks. I;ve guessed the barely feathered one is a roo since I got them. But then he has no comb and the other one is just SO big with a bit of a comb. He is very upright though (but maybe he looks more so because he has no feathers). What do others think!?

And this photo makes him really look like a roo, watching over all my other (hopefully) pullets!

And here are some attempts at some closer head shots:

The one who hasnt really feathered out yet

The huge one with all her feathers. This pic is hilarious, I love it!

And jsut a couple more

Hey there, I have 7 week Sussex light and am wondering like crazy what they are.... Unfortunately out of the 3 I think 2 are Roos :/ so I am going to test my abilities and guess that your chick in question is a hen! Please let me know if I am wrong or right. :) Hopefully wrong- then I might not actually have 2 Roos!

I only see one light sussex, the other one has no black in tail , neck or wings to be light sussex.. I would say the one with black markings looks like a female...

hi can anyone sex these young ones for me
well look at these they was bought as light sussex hatching eggs from a well known poultry farmer who is in a uk poultry magazine
a breeding program flock look at the markings

these are my coronation and light sussex taken today 5 wks 1 day it’s hard to get pics because Mamma is super protective I have made sure they have access to see and give them clean water every 2 nd day and at night they follow mamma to bed as I have cleaned out their old roost box the other chickens are very interested in them we have isa browns and speckled sussex hens they check them out but never get too close during the day my others are free rangers and sleep in the pen so it was easy to section off an area for mamma and chicks
