AND THEN THERE WAS THIS:

I would absolutely never make fun or take lightly the sacrifices of our brave men and woman of the US armed forces. I love them more than anyone on here. I have 3 cousins that have done more than one tour there. I'm sorry if I offended ANY of our military personnel by laughing at this joke.

I am sorry as well. I am thankful for every thing they are doing for us. My grandfather served in the war and so did his brothers. I wish I could do what they do but I have asthma.

beeky, thank you for your service as a vet and my thoughts and prayers go out to
all these kids who are in the enemy's crosshairs. The whole thing is a heartbreak.

I find jokes like this humorous because they, through a type of sarcasm and parody,
illuminate how foolish and sad some of the things our soldiers are risking their lives
to defeat are.

The "butts" of this joke are Pakistanies, suicide bombers, and outsourcing, not the
amazingly brave soldiers out there fighting it.

This is just my opinion and if I didn't like the group of people in here "this post"
I would have just shut up.

To All on BYC:
I take full responsibility for having posted this all in the name of humor and I sincerely apologize for any offense taken by anyone.

I myself, am a proud vetran of probably the most unpopular war in the history of our great nation. Trust me, I know all to well what it feels like to be scoffed at when we returned home.

Understand this, as a vet, my father a vet of WWII and former POW, my grandson on active duty as I write this, I would never say or do anything to bring shame to my comrads in arms.

Enough said: God Bless America!!!!!

Well I never said I did not like anyone here, and somehow got the idea that I could post my opinion here like anyone else. As far as telling me to shut up that is the real joke. I have the earned right to my opinion as well as anyone else and did not see anything that said no posts if you can not find it funny. I said nothing combative in my post yet you feel the need to let me know to shut up. Easy to do on a screen somewhere else, but if that is your style go at it, I only stated my opinion and stand by it.

No where in the original "joke" did yogiman mention anything about our military personnel..................I'm sorry if anyone somehow interpreted any ill natured remarks from it.

It is FUNNY because every automated assistance call for some reason has to be diverted overseas and we are all too familiar with the recruitment of suicide bombers.

PC is correct in pointing out who the butts of this joke are.

On a more serious note,

Now that I am agreeing with PC's way of thinking, does this mean I have joined the "dark side"?

No offense, but if you had read what purple chicken wrote without looking to be offended, you would have realized that he was telling himself to shut up and not you. Try reading more carefully before becoming inflamed.

Beeky I was talking about ME shutting up, not you. I would never tell you to shut up.
What you wrote made sense I was just trying to explain How much I respect veterans
and our soldiers, especially the ones on the front line.

"This is just my opinion and if I didn't like the group of people in here "this post"
I would have just shut up." meant if I (ME) didn't personally like and respect the
people here (YOU & Others) then I (ME) wouldn't have responded.

Sometimes I re-read my own posts and have to edit them because they
can easily be taken in a negative way when they are meant to be positive,
polite, or stupid & fun.
