and THIS is how they treat our veterans?!?!

and really...IF they are milking the system.. well..then..ooh well!
It sure beats all the others that do it.. and those people gave nothing to our country...
just saying..

i'd rather have them milking the system then a lazy drug addict with 5 kids who does nothing.

Or the person who is not a citizen and doesn't pay any taxes.

I am sorry to hear of the problems with your relative, IF people remembered these items when it comes time to VOTE, did you know that in years back, we had statesmen, politicians that were actually vets themselves. They knew first hand of the sacrifice, the healing process that was necessary. SO They appointed and ensured that the people that made decisions regarding the care of our vets were being properly addressed. THEN GREED AND ENTITLEMENT set in, Vets in hospitals going without basic care and treatment. LIFE SUCKS WHEN those in power dont follow the rules. SO how do we make changes?

First visit the VETS hospitals, be known if you see something WRONG, report it. DO you think that in a regular hospital with all the families etc going in and out if there was a problem it would be vocalized in a heart beat.

Find out what issues are NOT being adressed with the VETS.

Contact your congressmen, report to them!!! Squeeky gets the grease!!!!

We must be vocal, not just one voice crying in the wilderness but a whole PLatoon of voices... yes it will make a difference when you vote...

God bless our service men and women!

no, he got out and went to the VA but walked out feeling like a loser because he could actually WALK in. When he got out they gave him a severence check. He then went back after 7 years, when he admitted he needed help and had LOTS of problems. He is pretty hard core so this was big. The initail payment was for one month at 100%, but it took months to get that. Then they decided they wanted more proof of his injuries, wanted him reevaulated etc. They have all his records and he has some major stuff in his medical records. The doctors have verified everything so far except for the TBI, even with all the records and a recent eval from a neurologist that pretty much said he is real bad, they haven't given him the TBI. They dropped him to 20% after the 1 payment at 100%. It has now been well over a year and a half and he is still trying to fix it.....but now stands at 90%, which equals what he would make a year if he worked full time at walmart ..... not enough to support a family as a single income for sure. His wife is going to school so she can get a GOOD job, but until then...

It's that sudden stop at the end of the jump!

Hubby was 6' and now 5'9". Big ouch factor there. Now only does the back deteriorate, but it causes problems with some major organs.

I think that vets should be 100% covered for disability, when a person SHRINKS do to a job that needs to be done jeez. I think the goverment sould be focused on getting a better turn around on welfare. In Ontario if you have a kid not in school yet you can collect welfare and not work/upgrade skills. I know alot of woman who will actually try to get pregnant just so they don't have to work, no cap on having kids! people will use a system but the system should be there when a vet needs it, $100 a month is to laugh at really, parking at dr's offices cost more then that a month.

I'm active duty, have been for 20 years and plan to stay on duty until they FORCE me out. I'm just saying that there are Vets the NEED HELP and either can't or don't get it because the system is clogged with (relatively) healthy people milking the system.
Any REAL military person embraces the "HONOR-COURAGE-COMMITMENT" way of life will stand aside and DEMAND "TAKE MY BUDDY FIRST DOC, HE'S HURT WORSE THAN ME!" I'm healthy, I don't need help, Take the guy that's all messed up first give him MY 10% that I'll get for my injuries...

I get quite a bit for serving my country. One thing is called Tuition Assistance. It pays a portion of any college degrees I want to take. I get (almost) free medical and dental. When I choose to retire, that medical will cost around $475. A YEAR! I know people paying $600. a MONTH for medical insurance. I get to wear my uniform home to Alabama to visit my folks and wave to people, shake hands, people try to pay my tabs at restaurants(I refuse and ask them to donate to VFW or FRA). I have access to job hunting assistance, Family counseling, every form of help immaginable, and sadly, From time to time I get the ultimate privlage and honor to honor a fallen comerade at arms by dressing in my finest uniform and proudly rendering a final salute- folding the flag under which he/she served- and presenting it to their loved ones.

I've seen grown men break down a cry, I've seen a 96lb women pick up a 200lb sailor and carry him to safety, I've been helpless at my duty station as a chopper goes over the side with all on board lost, and yes, in fact I've seen useless, lazy, wastes of skin.

Don't presume to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. You know NOTHING about me. end quote

No one has the right to milk the system, I do not care who they are. In the long run we end up paying for these people, both private and military.

I know someone who has gotten hurt on the job, with no fault of their own, and have been denied workers comp, because he worked to hard on his therapy to get back to work. He did everything he was told, made every appointment every check up,and are still giving him a hard time. They say he shouldn't have tried to go back to work so fast. He needed to keep his job, and they ultimately fired him. He was crushed by a back hoe bucket or something like that. So many people try to get something for nothing, I believe if a vet needs the benefits by all means he/she should have them, and so should the people out there hurt in their line of work. No person should get help, if they do not really need it, My ex step brother had barely worked when he "hurt his back"he has gotten his full disability since he was 22 or so, My father was almost denied because he kept getting stronger and then would return to work, he had a rare condition that would render him paralyzed, then he would get better go back to work, and then it would happen again. The last time, he never recovered fully and they wouldn't come to the hospital to see him, tried to do all this over the phone. My Dad passed away, and my ex step brother with his "Hurt Back, didn't hurt so bad as he stole every piece of scrap, and the like,(that my Dad worked his butt off to have) heaving it into his truck to sell it for what every he could get, to use it on drugs. I mean moving big items like washer, dryer, refrigerator, etc! Makes me sick! I also know a few people that have been denied and truly should have it, doctors fighting for them and they are still denied!
Yes, I can see them doing revaluations, it just makes sense , but to deny someone that has the facts right in front of them is just plain wrong.
No one was trying to be disrespectful to vets. No honest vet, would try to get something for nothing, At least the vets in my family wouldn't.
