He was the master of getting the vet wrap off
We tried so hard and even had the vet wrap him and he still got it off
This is him now 1.5 years old and he copes just fine but I wish I could have fixed it

You want to get the wing tips are under the sock and make sure they are folded like the duck would naturally fold them. What is happening is that the sock is forcing the new feathers to grow in the natural position and not forcing the wing tip outward.

I'd leave it on for at least 24 hours. It varies because it depends so much on how severe the problem is, how quickly the duckling is growing, etc.
