I have a duckling that appears to have angelwing. We are currently having 90+ degree weather and I want to wrap her wings up, but wonder about her getting too hot. I was thinking of wrapping her in a tube sock (like a sleeve) and then taping it around her for tightness. I have a couple of questions though, since this is my first time doing anything like this:

1. Do I need to keep her away from swimming water? I have a small pen that I can keep her in, but besides drinking water, I don't know if I need to just supply enough water for her to dip her bill and clean her nostrils, or have something bigger that she could get into?

2. From what I've read, people generally leave the wrap on for about four days. Should I be checking it each day, or removing the wrap periodically each day, or just leave it on for the duration?

Thanks for any and all advice from those with experience!

I wouldn't let her swim with the wrap on maybe take it off long enough daily for her to cool off in some water then rewrap. but it wouldn't be necessary to even do this as long as she has plenty of cool drinking water deep enough to dunk her head into. and is kept in the shade. Check the wrap daily to make sure it isn't too tight. Let us know how it goes.
